D Deli

I don't know the exact location of this place but it's near Sunshine Square :) and near the 1 world apartment.

There are lots of places to eat here and we felt like eating Western. However, this was quite a disappointing lunch.

First of all, there were limited choices on the menu. There were many pictures on the walls of this restaurant but they were not any of the food stated in the menu.

The set lunch comes with a drink. It was chrysanthemum tea and I could barely taste the tea. It was way too sweet and it tasted like sugar water.

Mushroom sauce spaghetti 3/10
The sauce was too watery and even worse, it was tasteless. The picture shown in the menu is completely different!

Grilled fish with mint sauce 4/10
The fish was overcooked and tasted like broth once it's in your mouth! The mint sauce tasted really bad and it was not a good combination with the fish.

Grilled mushroom chicken with cheese 5/10
This looked the most appetizing on the menu but the mushroom sauce was again too watery and tasteless. The onions didn't go well with this dish at all and the cheese didn't even taste good.

 Chicken carbonara 5/10
There was too little sauce and the sauce was not thick enough. At least it wasn't tasteless. I think this dish could be the best of the worst. The chicken wasn't tender and was too dry.

And for dessert...one humble jelly. For the price we had to pay, this wasn't worth it at all. Soup was also served together with the set. The mushroom soup was one of the worst I've tasted as it was too watery. I felt like I was drinking milk.

Coffee Elements - calling all coffeeholics!

I don't usually hunt for food here but since my mum drove me here for lunch today, might as well find somewhere! All Seasons Place is a strip mall located in Air Itam (where my mum grew up) and this is something new in the area!

There were tons of restaurants along the whole stretch of the ground floor but none really caught my eye...

Situated on the 1st floor right above Papa Rich lies the pretty little cafe, Coffee Elements. I haven't heard of this cafe before and to be honest, I'm quite picky when it comes to food..heheheh. So I took a look at the menu written on the cute chalkboard outside and since my stomach couldn't wait, I went straight inside :)

Caramel Latte 8.5/10
There were way too many types of coffee to choose from, as the name of the cafe suggests. Im not a loyal fan of Caramel Lattes but this one is the best Ive tasted so far. Its creamy and not too bitter. Just the right amount of sweetness! Word of advice: If your'e planning to order coffee or a chocolate drink, order a hot one. The cold one will usually be diluted due to the ice and the creaminess will be lost.

Smoked Salmon Salad 9/10
I love love LOVE the presentation...it tastes as good as it looks too! Probably the only time you should judge a book by its cover. Sesame dressing was used as a substitute to the regular western dressings like mayo or thousand island sauce. The sesame dressing adds a much better flavour to the whole dish. The purple lettuce is fresh and crispy but the ultimate reason why I love this salad so much is because of the salmon! So thick, juicy and well marinated...and theres A LOT of them. However, the cherry tomatoes were too sour.

Little Bear 8/10
Your typical English breakfast made awesome. The mash potato salad was exceptional. Chopped onions, celery, cucumbers were added to spice up the potatoes. Yummm. The scrambled eggs were also creamy and fluffy. Bread and butter? Sounds very plain and simple but oh my goodness...the bread was amazeballs. I guess sometimes less is more although...the sausage was a tad too dry and the baked beans weren't salty enough. If your'e tummy has room for more, go for the Big Bear.

Chicken spaghetti 6/10
Pasta isn't something I would order here. The sauce was somewhat too sour and watery and the chicken was too dry though...there was a lot of pepper and that made the spaghetti taste better.

Overall, I had a wonderful lunch here at Coffee Elements and this is somewhere I would definitely come back. Next time, I would order the desserts as they look superb! The parking at All Seasons Place was very convenient and it was free! There was no government tax nor any service charges. P.S. They have free water and you can take as much as you like!

Chicago Ribs

So for lunch today, my mum, sisters and I went to the Chicago Ribs restaurant at Gurney Plaza, Penang. This restaurant is definitely on my top 10 list!

8/10
Chicago cheesy grilled chicken burger with the oh so good beer battered fries.
Chicken breasts are not often tender and are usually hard but healthy. But this one...oh my goodness...the chicken breast used in this burger is one of the best I've tasted. Juicy and sweet, the chicken breast makes up 80% of the reason why this burger tastes so good!
However, the beer battered fries wasn't so impressive. The fragrance and the saltiness just wasn't there.

9/10
BBQ pork ribs
The portion is just right. The rice is fragrant and delicious. But there's something about the BBQ sauce that made me go WOW. The pork is tender and sweet and it goes very well with the vegetables. This is a must try if you do visit this restaurant.

8.5/10
This BBQ pizza is also one of my personal favs! For onion lovers, this is something that you should order! The onions are sweet and it adds much more favour to the pizza. The crust is thin and crunchy just like any other great tasting pizzas.

10/10
And we have a winner! Desserts are a must...even if our stomachs are bloated up! Not too sweet, juuuusssssttt right! Psst! Add 1 scoop of ice cream of any flavor for only RM1! Trust me. The bread pudding tastes so much better with a ice cream :)

Macalister road, Penang (my very first post)

Everyone knows Penang is the best of the best place for food hunting. :) The hawker centers are definitely a must go due to the variety of food sold. From sweet to savory, spicy to soupy, one must visit the hawker center at Macalister Road.

Located near the heart of Georgetown, this hawker center is THE place for food lovers. It is crowded day and night and everytime I come here, I end up waiting for a table but...the wait is worth it!

8.5/10
No char koay teow beats the char koay teow at Penang but oh boy...this one makes you drool by the looks of it. The prawns are fresh and juicy unlike most prawns in other char koay teow which aren't very tasty. This one also has the right amount of spiciness!

7/10
I'm usually not a huge fan of chee cheong fun but the smell of this one just inculcates the hunger in me!
9/10
"O Chien" or omelette with oysters and starch. Clearly one of the best I've tasted!
If your tastebuds are seeking for some adventure, dip the oysters/egg in the chili sauce they provide. Fireworks in my mouth!

5/10
Pork and pork intestine satay
This is my first time tasting a satay which isn't chicken. The onions and cucumbers given were kinda too little and the pork wasn't juicy enough :( the sauce could've been a bit spicier and sweeter but what an interesting twist to the regular satays!

I actually ate more than this but didn't take pictures of the other food I ordered. The claypot chicken rice and sar hor fun is one of best I've tasted!

If you happen to visit Penang, this place is a must to visit!
